About Us

Our founder, Mindy Kauffman, has been intrigued with commercial real estate since first overhearing her father craft real estate deals. After earning a Finance degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, she successfully completed a joint JD / MBA degree program at Boston University, concentrating on real estate practice and finance each time. After several years first as a law clerk and then in private law practice, Mindy had the opportunity to come back to Sarasota to work with her family’s real estate portfolio.

Taking over in 1998, she quickly expanded Sarasota Commercial Management, Inc., the predecessor of Red Property Management, and focused the business on commercial property management, facilities management, asset management, and consulting services. Under her watch, the company expanded to over 25 employees. She sold it in 2007 to focus on real estate consulting for turnarounds and workouts then re-assumed the helm in 2013.
